This week is National Library Week, a time where we celebrate libraries and all that they contribute to our communities. This year's theme is "Libraries Transform." We at the Hamilton County Law Library hope the services we offer serve this purpose for you. Whether through access to resources and technology, expert research assistance, or facilities where you can meet with clients or interact with colleagues, the Law Library has a lot to offer. In honor of National Library Week we will be featuring a "Librarian of the Day" each day of the week.
Today's featured librarian is Melissa Barney. Melissa has been the Technical Services Librarian at the Law Library since 2011. She previously worked at Dinsmore & Shohl, and The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. She received her MLIS from Kent State.
A few things about Melissa, in her own words:
My favorite part of my job is the versatility. Not only am I able to do the traditional technical services duties, such as cataloging, acquisitions, serials, etc., but I also work on the circulation and reference desks when needed.
My favorite hobbies are crafting, quilting, and photography. I also love spending time with my daughter, my husband, and our three dogs.
Check back tomorrow for our final featured librarian post!
