May 1609 found the first publication of a quarto Shake-speare’s Sonnets, in which we find William Shakespeare’s 154 sonnets.

Sonnet 134, presented below, uses metaphors of mortgages, sureties, bonds, and (law)suits to discuss…..well, the fun is to see if YOU can figure out what the speaker is talking about.  Enjoy!
